Talking is our business! After all we are a
Communications Company.

We want to find young people who are prepared not just to talk about things but to
TAKE ACTION!

So we have teamed up with Lancaster City Council and have introduced the ‘Walk the Talk’ Challenge Awards, asking primary schools to help make a difference to the lives of children, the environment and the lives of the people within their communities.

Lancaster City Council serves the seaside town of Morecambe, the historic city centre of Lancaster and the rural surrounding areas including stunning countryside.

The ‘Walk the Talk’ Challenge will be implemented in 3 phases:

  • Year 1 will concentrate on Primary schools
  • Year 2 will concentrate on Youth & Community Groups
  • Year 3 will concentrate on Nursery Schools
The Challenge:

Every year we will challenge children and young people to undertake either a new or existing project and compete the Walk the Talk Award; this year 2009 we are looking at the 5 key themes in: Every Child Matters’  We know schools are involved in work around Every Child Matters so using existing projects are fine.

We want the children to project manage and run the scheme rather than the teachers which is why we have written directly to the school councils. However, we know they will need some help and therefore a mentor needs to be identified to offer guidance and help with the project – this could be a teacher, parent, member of the community, or someone from the police, fire or health service depending on the project in question.

The Award:

All participating schools will receive a small prize from Lancaster City Council and the winning school will receive £1,000 from Linco Communications towards a project for their school which links into their chosen theme. The award will be presented to the winning school in an award ceremony in September 2009 where all participating schools will have the opportunity to showcase their project.

Help we need a Logo!

In addition we are hosting a competition to find a logo for the Walk the Talk Challenge and you will find an application form in the pack regarding this. This is open to ALL primary schools in the district

Application packs & posters will be sent out to all schools but if you would like to download extra posters please click here:
